The sign is wrong, depending on how you measure it. But the real question you should ask is, “What is the purpose of this sign?” Who is Trump trying to send what message to? Do you think anyone in any other country in the world cares? No, they don’t. If the sign is true, everyone already knows it. What is the point of spending taxpayer dollars on these huge signs?
This is a propaganda poster! For those of you that don’t know exactly the difference between a propaganda poster and an informational poster, now is your chance to see propaganda in action. Propaganda is when you are trying to convince someone else to take your side; usually by slightly twisting a truth. If the truth is obvious and evident, there is no need to create a huge poster to tout it; because it is obvious. But if you feel people are not adopting the belief you want them to have you create a big poster stating your opinion because you think you can create truth in doing so. And, if your ego is fragile, it is a boost to your own ego to see words you find flattering to yourself in print.
This is propaganda. Educated people understand how it is false; or at least that if you want to consider it truth, then your only measure of your countries response to the virus is how many tests you have administered; not how the economy has been damaged or lives have been lost. Those are not important. But number of tests administered IS IMPORTANT. To Donald Trump. Because it is one measure the U.S. has a higher score on.
Did you know that the U.S. has administered more tests than Iceland? We should be very proud of ourselves!
